How do we use the present moment and our body to attract what we want?

Ria, one of my clients wants to transition to a heart-aligned career. But she is afraid of the financial consequences and of becoming a bad/angry partner because of the stress of the change. This dance of fear and desire is human. And as a life and career coach who works with the mind-body connection, I see this regularly - both in my life and lives of my clients.

What matters to me as a coach is, what is alive in your body right now? Where are your body (and mind) in the present w.r.t your desire?

A part of our life force wants to manifest itself creatively through our goals, desires and intentions, it seeks challenges, growth and self-actualization. And another part of us wants to keep us safe from harm, and so it avoids unfamiliarity and newness. Both of these parts serve evolutionary purposes - We want to stay alive and we want to enjoy being alive.

During my coaching sessions, we ...unravel the threads of tension that obscure the way forward, that stand in the way of making clear decisions... as our whole being becomes more aligned with our goals, we open up and recognize opportunities, acting on them, and attract what we want towards us.

The problem occurs when our body gets so choked with imagined dangers and we cannot see the way forward or make clear decisions. Because our body is stuck in states which don't serve a purpose anymore. This could be because of everyday unprocessed stress, (inter-generational) trauma, socio-cultural factors.... It doesn't really matter what caused it.

What matters to me as a coach is, what is alive in your body (and mind) right now? Where are your body (and mind) in the present w.r.t your desire. Because the present is where we are alive and where we take action - the past and future are both imaginary places.

Take a moment to think about one of your goals or desires right now. Now notice what do you feel in your body around this goal or desire - is there clarity, openness, spaciousness and even excitement? Or is there constriction or tension somewhere? Or perhaps both?

During my coaching sessions, we use different tools to go into the body and feel the sensations and thoughts that come up w.r.t the clients' goals.

We go into the depth and feel and unravel the threads of tension that obscure the way forward, that stand in the way of making clear decisions. We take the time to listen and discover, and slowly take steps to embodying our goals and desires. And when our whole being is more and more aligned with our goals, we open up and recognize opportunities and start to attract what we want towards us.
